Man, I really want to be optimistic about the new Star Trek movie, but I caught the full trailer before Quantum of Solace and...there's a scene straight out of Top Gun with Kirk riding a motorcycle up to the site where they're (yes, it's true) building the Enterprise. On Earth. On the ground.
It's not just Trek geekiness to say this is hugely impractical and unlikely to work. How are they going to get that damned thing off the ground? The Enterprise was built in an orbiting drydock for a reason!
